'Money Is Not The Issue' - Liverpool's Adekanye Not Ruling Out Contract Extension
Published: January 07, 2019Nigerian-born winger Bobby Adekanye, 19, has not ruled out the possibility of extending his contract with Premier League pacesetters Liverpool amid speculation linking him with a move to Italian club Lazio in the summer.
Money is not behind the reason he has failed to commit his future to The Reds but he wants assurances over his first-team prospects before inking a new deal, according to a top source.
''It depends on Liverpool if Bobby will extend his contract. At the moment he is still a Liverpool player. He still wants to stay at Liverpool,'' he told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Last year, he was offered a new contract, same time they were offering new deals to their players.
''It is not about the money but how can he develop. There should be proof he'll develop if he remains with the club and be treated with respect.''
Apart from Lazio, other unnamed European clubs including Eredivisie sides are monitoring the situation of the Netherlands youth international.
