Hoffenheim's Akpoguma Reveals Manchester City Are His Favorite Club In England
Published: January 11, 20191899 Hoffenheim loanee Kevin Akpoguma has revealed he would like to play in the English Premier League and cited Manchester City as his favorite club in England.
The former Germany U20 skipper has already faced the Citizens this season, in October 2018 as Hoffenheim were beaten 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the UEFA Champions League.
The 23-year-old central defender has spent the whole of his career in Germany, starting off his senior career at Karlsruher SC in 2012 before his move to Hoffenheim the following year.
''I would like to play in England. But you have to be a complete player, I'm not yet. My favorite club is Manchester City,'' Akpoguma said to German newspaper Bild.
''It
was a great honor to play against them in the Champions League. I have
relatives in Manchester, got a jersey from City as a 12-year-old.''
Akpoguma and Leroy Sane were teammates in the German U21 side before the winger moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2016.
