Sunderland Yet To Receive Bids For Tottenham, Everton, Wolves & Celtic Linked Nigerian Striker
Published: January 17, 2019
Sunderland manager Jack Ross has confirmed that the League One club are yet to receive any bids for prolific Nigerian striker Josh Maja despite the player attracting interest from several clubs in the January transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Celtic plus German Bundesliga clubs have all been linked with moves for the 20-year-old.
It will be difficult for Sunderland to resist approaches from clubs interested in Maja as he is prepared to run out his contract and leave for a little compensation in the summer.
''There has absolutely been no offer or concrete interest that we’ve been made aware of from another club,'' Ross was quoted as saying by Chronicle Live.
''That’s not to say there isn’t, or that hasn’t been communicated to Josh by other parties because that happens in the game.
''But certainly from our point of view, we’ve had no communication from other clubs.''
Josh Maja has 15 goals to his name from 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
