Official : Manchester United Announce Return Of Defender To Former Club
Published: January 18, 2019
Manchester United have confirmed that Wales youth international Regan Poole, 20, is returning to his former club Newport County on loan for the remainder of the season.
The central defender turned out for Newport County for a year before he was snapped up by the Red Devils in 2015 following a successful trial.
Aged 16 years and 94 days, Poole became Newport County's youngest-ever player when he was named in the starting line-up for their goalless draw against Shrewsbury Town on September 20, 2014.
He made his first-team debut for Manchester United against Midtjylland in the Europa League during the 2015-2016 season.
Poole has recorded over 25 appearances for Wales U17, U19, U20 and U21 national teams.
Subject to international clearance, he is in contention to feature in Saturday's League Two clash against Exeter City.
