Done Deals : Super Eagles GK Akpeyi Joins Kaizer Chiefs; Newport County Bring In Azeez
Published: January 31, 2019South African giants Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi from Chippa United.
The Nigeria international has penned a seventeen-month deal that will keep him at Kaizer Chiefs until at least June 30, 2020.
Akpeyi left Nigeria to join Chippa United in 2015 after stints with Gabros, Heartland, Nasarawa United and Warri Wolves.
The 32-year-old faces a baptism of fire if he makes his debut against Orland Pirates at FNB Stadium on February 9, 2019.
Meanwhile, striker Ade Azeez has joined League Two club Newport County on a permanent deal, subject to FA, EFL and international clearance.
The 25-year-old lists Wycombe, Leyton Orient, Torquay, Dagenham & Redbridge, AFC Wimbledon, Partick Thistle and Charlton Athletic as his former clubs.
