Zidane Tipped To Replace Sarri At Chelsea & Why It's Good News For Victor Moses
Published: February 13, 2019Chelsea are in a difficult situation in the race to qualify for next season's Champions League following their 6-0 loss to Manchester City, a result that left them in sixth position in the table.
According to The Sun , Chelsea want Zinedine Zidane as their next manager if they sack Sarri and hope he can take Blues back to the very top.
The Frenchman, who is currently without a club since his departure from Real Madrid, is well liked by the Chelsea Board who consider him a top coach at the highest level, having won the UEFA Champions League in three consecutive seasons as coach of Los Blancos.
Zidane being linked with the Chelsea job would be good news for Victor Moses as the former Nigeria international has cited the 1998 World Cup-winning midfielder as his football idol.
The 28-year-old saw his first-team opportunities limited after Sarri replaced Antonio Conte as coach and was farmed out on loan to Fenerbahce in the January transfer window.
Moses told Fenerbahce TV last week when asked to name his football idol: ''Zidane. He was a great player. His movements in the field were more relaxed and he was confident in playing with the ball.''
Moses's contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign.
