OGC Nice Join PSG, Borussia Dortmund In Race To Sign Chelsea's Nigerian Midfielder
Published: February 13, 2019
Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are not the only clubs working on a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin in the summer transfer window, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The latest club showing serious interest in the England U18 star is Ligue I side OGC Nice, who are coached by Arsenal legendĀ Patrick Vieira.
Although no transfer fee has been mentioned at this point, it is believed that Paris Saint-Germain would be front runners for Anjorin's signature if a bidding war is sparked.
The 17-year-old is a goal-scoring midfielder and his style of play has been compared to that of former Manchester City star Yaya Toure.
He was a member of the England U17 squad which reached the semifinals of the 2018 UEFA European U17 Championship and was promoted to the U18s at the start of this season.
Anjorin has scored in all the competitions he has featured in this term including the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, EFL Trophy, UEFA Youth League, FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League Cup.
