Celebrity Arsenal Supporter Piers Morgan Reacts To Iwobi's Display Vs Southampton
Published: February 25, 2019Alex Iwobi was praised by celebrity Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan after his brilliant performance in the Gunners' 2-0 win against Southampton, a result that sees Unai Emery's side climb to fourth in the Premier League standings.
The English journalist has rued the injury picked up by the Nigeria international, which led to him making way for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 75th minute.
Just as Emery stated in his post-match press conference, Piers Morgan hopes Iwobi will be available for selection when the Gunners face Bournemouth in their next fixture in two days time.
''FT: 2-0. Good performance. Hope Iwobi's OK, thought he played really well today until his injury. #AFCvSFC,'' tweeted Piers Morgan.
Of the eleven players that started the Europa League round of 32 second leg clash vs BATE Borisov, Iwobi was among five players that retained their spots in the starting line-up, the others being Stephan Lichtsteiner, Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The initial reports to come out of the Emirates Stadium is that the Super Eagles star suffered a knock.
