Premier League 2: Norwich City's Nigerian Starlet Strikes Against Manchester United
Published: March 02, 2019
Nigeria-eligible starlet Adam Idah got on the scoresheet as Norwich City claimed a 2-1 win against Manchester United in a Premier League 2 Division 2 clash at Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Friday night.
Idah had the first real opportunity to open the scoring for the Canaries in the 18th minute when he got behind the Red Devils defense but saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Kovar.
Bohui smashed the ball into the left corner to break the deadlock and give United the lead after 37 minutes.
Five minutes into the second half, Idah poked home a penalty after Ahadme was fouled in the box by Luca Ercolani.
On 63 minutes, Kamal slipped the ball to Idah but his effort was gathered by the United glovesman, before the visitors grabbed a 79th minute winner.
With 10 goals from 15 appearances, Idah is the second highest goalscorer in the PL2 Division 2.
One-cap United States international Matthew Olosunde was on duty for Manchester United after coming off the bench in the 67th minute.
