Taiwo Awoniyi Named In Belgian First Division A Team Of The Week

In-form Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi has been named in the latest Team of the Week in the Belgian First Division A.

Voetbalkrant has selected the top eleven players for each position with the former Nigeria U23 international making the cut in a 3-5-2 formation.

Awoniyi led the attack and was partnered by K.V. Kortrijk's Uruguayan star Felipe Avenatti, who notched a brace against Cercle Brugge.

This is the sixth week in a row that the Royal Excel Mouscron sensation has been named in the Team of the Week and it's not by coincidence, given that he has found the net in six of the seven matches he has featured in this year.

Thanks to the brilliant form of Awoniyi, Royal Excel Mouscron have picked up 19 points from seven games after winning 6 and drawing their latest fixture vs Standard Liege.

The 21-year-old Nigerian has scored a goal every 91 minutes in the Belgian top flight in the second half of this season.
