UEL: Dinamo's Atiemwen Not Given A Chance To Show Off To Man Utd, Man City, Barcelona Scouts
Published: March 08, 2019
One of Nigeria's most in-form players in Europe at the moment, Iyayi Believe Atiemwen was not given a chance to show off to several scouts in attendance when Dinamo Zagreb hosted famous Portuguese club Benfica in the round of sixteen of the Europa League on Thursday evening.
According to sportsport.ba, representatives from Premier League teams Manchester United, Manchester City, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers monitored proceedings at the Stadion Maksimir (Zagreb).
Atiemwen , wearing the number 20 jersey, remained on the bench for the entirety of the game in what would have been his second appearance in this season's Europa League if he had featured.
The highly-rated attacking midfielder also did not take advantage of the presence of Barcelona, Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Inter, Slavia Prague, Sampdoria, Bayer Leverkusen, Sassuolo, Bordeaux, Lille, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Milan scouts.
Atiemwen's form for Gorica in the first half of the season earned the attention of Dinamo Zagreb, whom he joined on a five-year deal in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has had a hand in 12 goals (8 goals, 4 assists) in 21 matches in the Croatian top flight so far this season.
