Everton Loanee Henry Scores Brace In Galatasaray Routine Win Vs Antalyaspor
Published: March 11, 2019
Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray extended their unbeaten run to eleven matches after a routine 5-0 win against Antalyaspor at the Turk Telekom Stadyumu (İstanbul) on Monday evening.
Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru retained his place in the starting line-up, occupying the left wing position.
Sofiane Feghouli's 17th minute strike separated the two teams in the first-half, but the Lions upped the tempo after the intermission, scoring through Badou Ndiaye, Onyekuru (2) and Mbaye Diagne.
On 65 minutes, Antalyaspor defenders were caught ball-watching, leaving Onyekuru unmarked in the penalty area to blast the ball past goalkeeper Ruud Boffin.
The Everton loanee burst into the 18-yard box before scoring through a left-footed shot in the 78th minute to make it 4-0 after receiving an unselfish pass from Feghouli.
Thanks to their 14th win of the season, Galatasaray have closed the gap on surprise leaders Istanbul Basaksehir to eight points with nine matches to the end of the 2018-19 season.
