Joseph Yobo Highlights Aerial Skills & Importance Of Van Dijk After Liverpool Win Vs Bayern
Published: March 14, 2019For the first time since the 2008-2009 season, four Premier League teams have qualified for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League after Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool beat Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
Mane's opener was cancelled out when Joel Matip turned into his own net six minutes before the break and the visitors regained the lead on 69 minutes through a powerful header from Virgil van Dijk.
Former Everton center back Joseph Yobo showered accolades on the Liverpool number four after the game, and highlighted his aerial prowess and importance to the team.
Speaking as an analyst on SuperSport, Yobo said : ''The team revolves around him (Virgil van Dijk), when he is out of the team they miss him. When he comes back you can see the difference like tonight.
''When it was 1-1, as a center back with his height and his composure and ability in the air, you will wish for this kind of ball. Credit to the young lad, that's a brilliant set piece he took brilliantly.
''As a center back, you will want the ball to be an outswinger, perfect timing for van Dijk, great header. It was a brilliant goal''.
