Nigeria-Eligible Manchester United Striker Receives Maiden Ireland U17 Call-Up
Free-scoring Manchester United youth-team striker Mipo Odubeko has received his first ever call-up to Republic of Ireland U17 National Team ahead of two international fixtures against Finland.

The 2002-born player has been rewarded with a maiden invitation to the U17s less than one month after he enjoyed a goalscoring debut for Manchester United U18s against Blackburn Rovers.

Regarded as one of the most promising prospects at United's Academy, Odubeko helped Ireland U16s win the prestigious Victory Shield in Northern Ireland two years ago.

Deji Sotona, who recently made his Manchester United U18 debut, has not been named in the 19-man group by manager Colin O'Brien.

Manchester City's Gavin Bazunu and Derby County's Festy Ebosele have not been picked following their promotion to the Irish U21 and U19 squad respectively.

Manchester City starlet Timi Sobowale is among the six defenders included in the latest Republic of Ireland U18 roster for the international friendly games against Finland on March 22 and March 25.
