Nigeria U20s Suffer Injury Blow Ahead Of World Cup As Striker Damages Cruciate Ligament
Less that two months before the start of the FIFA U20 World Cup, the Flying Eagles have suffered an injury blow with FK Bodø / Glimt new signing Victor Boniface set to spend at least six months on the sidelines, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The 18-year-old damaged his cruciate ligament in a pre-season friendly against SK Brann on March 15, which prevented him from making his competitive debut this past weekend against Rosenborg.

Boniface suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly and his foot gave way.

Injuries have not been kind to the Real Sapphire FC product in 2019 as he had to withdraw from Nigeria's squad to the U20 AFCON after sustaining a knee injury just before the start of the tournament in Niger.

Paul Aigbogun's charges struggled to score goals at the U20 AFCON, managing only four in five matches and the coach will be left scratching his head over the striker to lead the charge for goals in Poland.

The Flying Eagles battle United States, Qatar and Ukraine in the group stage of the World Cup.
