Arsenal's Nigerian Midfielder Tipped For Big Things Named MVP Liam Brady Cup
Published: April 12, 2019Promising midfielder Miguel Azeez has added another feather to his cap after he was named Player of the Tournament in the recently concluded Liam Brady Cup.
The youth football tournament was played on April 9th and 10th at the Arsenal sports facilities in London.
The young Gunners defeated Celtic, Valencia and Manchester United 3-0, 1-0 and 2-0 respectively to set up another meeting with the Spanish side in the final which they won 2-1.
Aged 16, Azeez is the most exciting player of Nigerian descent playing for Arsenal U16s though he has featured heavily for the U18s in the last two seasons, with seven starts to his name in the U18 Premier League.
An England U17 international, he helped the world champions qualify for May's UEFA European Under-17 Championship and was part of the U16 set-up before he was promoted.
Mipo Odubeko, Shola Shoretire and Deji Sotona featured for Manchester United at the Liam Brady Cup.
