The Two Golden Eaglets Players Man City Are Interested In Signing After Scouting Trip To Tanzania
Published: May 01, 2019
Manchester City have expressed their interest in signing two Golden Eaglets players after their scouting trip to Tanzania to watch the most promising African youngsters at the recently concluded U17 Africa Cup of Nations, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
Although Akinkunmi Amoo and Olatomi Olaniyan had been on the radar of the Citizens, they are looking to sign Nigeria U17 captain Samson Tijani and Olakunle Olusegun.
Manchester City are aware there are roadblocks to getting a work permit for both players as they have no caps for the Super Eagles and will cost under two million pounds, so they are planning to send both players to sister club Girona.
They have done this before, signing Olarenwaju Kayode from Austria Vienna in the summer of 2017 before loaning him to their Catalonia partners.
Collins Edwin Sports Club midfielder Tijani showed his leadership qualities at the U17 AFCON and won the Man of the Match award in the 1-0 win vs Angola in the group stage, while Olusegun netted the match-winner against Palanquinhas.
Olusegun, who won the top scorer award at the regional qualifiers, is on the books of ABS FC, Ilorin.
