How Record-breaking Shoretire Could Become First Nigeria-eligible Player To Feature For Manchester United
Published: May 02, 2019
England youth international striker Shola Shoretire, who is equally eligible to represent Nigeria in the future, wrote his name in Manchester United's history books last year when he became the club's youngest player to future in the UEFA Youth League at the age of 14.
The versatile left winger, who can seamlessly feature as a centre-forward or right winger, could yet break another record as he's very much likely to become the first Nigeria-eligible player to feature for the Old Trafford outfit in no distant future.
Despite being just 15, the youngster has already featured for the Red Devils U18 side, which is a confirmation that his qualities and potentials are too good to be ignored by first-team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for a long period of time.
Meanwhile, Shoretire still has to improve his overall game before he can eventually catch Solskjaer's attention.
He must continue to put in consistent displays for the youth team as that will definitely boost his chances of breaking the record many Nigerians are unhappy with.
