Ex-Chelsea Youth Team Playmaker Olise Named Reading FC Scholar Of The Year
Former Chelsea youth-teamer Michael Olise has been named as Reading FC's Scholar of the Year following his outstanding season for the Royals teams.

The 17-year-old was awarded the Maurice Edelston trophy on the Madejski Stadium pitch  on Sunday, May 5.

Olise, who is a first-year scholar at Reading, was rewarded with a first team debut off the bench against Leeds United on March 12 before making his full debut against Oghenekaro Etebo's Stoke City four days later.

He featured for Reading's U18, U23 and first-team over the course of the 2018-2019 campaign, the only player to do so this term.

The playmaker appeared in 28 games across all competitions for the U18 and U23 squads, scoring three goals, including a brilliant left-footed free-kick against Cambridge United in the FA Youth Cup.

Olise joined Reading Academy at U15 level and penned a scholarship with the club in the summer of 2018.
