Official : Three Promising Nigerian Players Released By Reading
Three players of Nigerian descent have been released by Reading following the conclusion of the 2018-2019 campaign, writes the official website of the Championship club.

Royals U23 stars Jamal Balogun, Moroyin Omolabi and Ademola Shokunbi are set to become free agents as they have been informed they won't be offered new contracts with the club.

While Balogun is a central defender, Shokunbi and Omolabi are predominantly central midfielders.

Omolabi was previously on the books of Tottenham Hotspur and joined Reading U18s in January 2018 before penning a professional contract with the club last summer.

Shokunbi was loaned out to National League South Billericay Town for a portion of this season to enable him garner first team experience.

The three players who are under the age of 21 depart Reading without making their first team debuts.
