Okocha Slams NPFL Side Delta Force For Hijacking His Player
Published: May 18, 2019
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Emmanuel Okocha in an interview with allnigeriasoccer.com slammed the Delta Force management for the unsavory incident of hijacking one of his players, Jude Egbo Othuke a few days after he starred against them during the Delta State FA Cup.
Okocha who is the administrator of Asaba TEX Football Club, one of the participants of the tournament was clearly livid with the move and has insisted that the Delta Ambassadors should have followed due protocols and might have bent some of the laid down rules and regulations of the topflight by playing the said boy without approval.
The 49-year-old has however urged the League Management Company to look into the issue and proffer the necessary solution to the mishap.
"How can they just take away a player who played against them just two days ago from my team, without signing any papers with me?", he spoke from Abuja.
"They said he is still an amateur, we registered for theĀ tournament, otherwise we wouldn't have been allowed to partake. Do the NPFL now condole such? A player that was not registered for the league season now playing for Delta Force and scoring their goals for them? Without due regulations?

"Jude is very talented, that is not in doubt. He is the top scorer in the FA Cup after all but what we will not accept is the breaching of rules, just for their own gain, because it is the government team. Asaba Tex FC never sanctioned his move to Delta Force."
