Solomon-Otabor Turns Down Birmingham City Contract Extension; Rejects Portsmouth Move
Published: May 31, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Nigeria U23 invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor is preparing to bid farewell to Birmingham City after turning down the new deal offered by the Championship club.
The Blues officially reported two weeks ago that the exciting winger has been offered a one-year contract, but the latest update is that he will leave B9 4RL as a free agent when he comes off contract at the end of next month.
Portsmouth would like to make Solomon-Otabor's move permanent but they have received a negative response from the talented youngster.
This has opened the door for him to join a new employer this summer and it is confirmed that he is in talks with a number of clubs who have shown interest in signing him.
Apart from Portsmouth, Solomon-Otabor was previously sent on loan to Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool due to his lack of first-team opportunities at Birmingham City.
The 23-year-old joined Birmingham City in 2012 from Crystal Palace Academy and leaves the Blues after 38 appearances for the first team.
