Reading Playmaker Eligible For Nigeria, England Makes Debut For France
Reading playmaker Michael Olise made his international debut for France as their U18 team registered a 2-0 win over Qatar at the ongoing Tournoi Maurice Revello on Sunday, June 2.

Eligible for Nigeria as well as England, it's the French Federation that have taken the first step to cap-tie the highly-rated attacking midfielder by handing him a maiden international call-up.

France are competing in the U19 and U21 EURO plus the FIFA U20 World Cup, so an U18 squad was selected to represent the country in the Toulon Tournament.

Named in the starting line-up, Olise lasted 90 minutes on the Stade de Lattre-de-Tassigny, Aubagne turf before making way for Bilal Benkhedim just before injury time.

The 17-year-old, who played on the right side of a three-man attack and wore the number 11 jersey, was unfortunate not to score 24 minutes into his debut after striking the right post with a left-footed shot from a difficult angle.

Yann Godart and Adil Taoui from the spot were on target for France who face Brazil in their next match on June 5.
