Confirmed : Nigeria-Eligible Defender Returns To Chelsea After Loan Spell
EFL Championship club Derby County have announced their retained and released lists following the conclusion of the 2018-2019 season and have made decisions on five Nigerian players.

England U21 international Fikayo Tomori is returning to his parent club Chelsea after the end of the loan agreement between the Blues and Rams.

The central defender had his best season as a professional, playing 55 games in all competitions as Frank Lampard's side reached the playoff final, where they lost to Aston Villa at Wembley.

Tomori is the first loan player to win Derby's Player of the Season award since it was introduced in the 1968-1969 season.

Meanwhile, Nigeria international center back Efe Ambrose has not been offered a fresh contract and would become a free agent on July 1.

The former Rangers and Hibernian star did not make a single appearance for the first team.

Josh Shonibare is among the U23 players under contract, ex-Arsenal winger Aaron Eyoma is out of contract and Festy Ebosele has been retained for a second year of scholarship.
