Confirmed : Talented Nigerian Right Back Yem Joins Belgian Side KAA Gent
Published: June 17, 2019Belgian First Division A side KAA Gent have announced the capture of promising Nigerian right back Reuben Yem.
The 21-year-old ended his association with AS Trencin on Monday by penning a three-year contract with the the Buffalos until June 30, 2022.
Yem is a product of the famous Golden Boot Soccer Academy which produced the likes of Ahmed Musa, Samuel Kalu and Moses Simon.
Before joining AS Trencin in 2018, the defender turned out for Inter Bratislava, for whom he made eight appearances.
Last season, Yem started all the eight matches played by AS Trencin in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, and racked up 36 appearances in all competitions with five assists to his name.
Taiwo Awoniyi, Rabiu Ibrahim and Peter Olayinka have represented KAA Gent in recent seasons.
