Everton Winger Onyekuru Rejects Move To CSKA Moscow
Published: July 17, 2019
Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru has turned down a move to Russian Premier League club CKSA Moscow, according to his agent Guillaume Costet-Barmada.
The Everton-owned winger was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht when he joined the Toffees in the summer of 2017 and spent the whole of last season at Galatasaray because he was denied a work permit to play in the Premier League.
Onyekuru might be loaned out again in the upcoming season or sold on a permanent basis as he has not played 75 percent of national team games over the past two years, a requirement before he can be granted a work permit.
''We had a proposal from CSKA, but the player decided to refuse the Moscow club,'' Costet-Barmada told Sport 24.
Last season, Onyekuru helped Galatasaray win the double, scoring 16 goals in 44 games across all competitions.
The 22-year-old has a contract at Everton until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
