West Brom Prepare A Bid Of N1.14 Billion For Former Arsenal U23 Skipper
Published: July 18, 2019Championship club West Brom are interested in signing Nigeria international defender Semi Ajayi, according to reports.
The print edition of the Sun says the Baggies are making a 2.5 million pounds (N1.14 billion) bid for the former Arsenal U23 skipper.
New West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has requested for the signing of the Rotherham United star as he bids to strengthen his defence.
Ajayi is predominantly a central defender and is comfortable playing in defensive midfield, and can also be deployed as a makeshift right-back.
The 25-year-old is believed to be on the lookout for a new employer following the demotion of Rotherham United to the third tier of English football at the end of last season.
His impressive performances and goalscoring stats last term, seven goals in 46 games, have increased his value, though he was omitted from Nigeria's roster to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
