'I Hope We Sign World Class Players' - Iwobi Denies Quit Reports
Published: July 21, 2019
Alex Iwobi has distanced himself from reports which suggested that he may leave Arsenal should they sign Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha this summer.
The Hale End Academy product has denied that he is looking to quit the North London club and has urged them to sign marquee players that will help the team achieve its objectives.
Iwobi is not expected to resume training at Arsenal until first week of August due to his commitments with Nigeria at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.
Reacting to the story, Iwobi posted on social media : ''Fake News & Click Bait! I Don’t know Why Some Newspapers Enjoy Twisting Words 🤷🏽♂️🙄.
''I Hope We Sign World Class Players @Arsenal And Progress As A Team 🙏🏽. I’m Looking Forward To The New Season. Happy Sunday 😊.''
Iwobi joined Arsenal in 2004 and has played 149 matches for the first team, scoring 15 goals.
