Official : Ex-AFC Wimbledon Captain Oshilaja Shakes Hands With Charlton Athletic
Published: July 22, 2019Newly promoted Championship club Charlton Athletic have announced the signing of Nigerian defender Deji Oshilaja, who captained AFC Wimbledon during the 2018-2019 season.
The 26-year-old, who has penned a two-year deal, has linked up with the Addicks following the expiration of his contract at The Dons.
Oshilaja previously appeared for Cardiff City, Newport County, Sheffield Wednesday and Gillingham.
He is the second Nigeria-eligible player signed by Charlton Athletic this summer after the capture of former Arsenal youth-teamer Chuks Aneke.
In his first words after signing the deal, Oshilaja told Charlton's official webpage : ''Charlton is a great club with a great fanbase and I'm really excited to get going.
''I was here (The Valley) for the play-off semi-final and the atmosphere was buzzing then so I can't wait to get started.''
In 155 outings in the English Football League, Oshilaja has scored nine goals in total.
