Published: August 01, 2019Through a publication on their official website, Lille have announced the capture of Victor Osimhen, who joins the club from Sporting Charleroi on a five-year deal.
The Nigeria international has been signed as replacement for Nicolas Pepe who has agreed terms with Premier League side Arsenal.
Osimhen is the third Nigerian player to be signed by Lille this millennium after goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Peter Odemwingie, and he wants to follow in their footsteps.
''The LOSC is a very good club that leads a quality project and includes high class players, even more in recent years,'' Osimhen told the official website of Lille.
''Great Nigerian players have also played here. I would like to join their lineage and follow their footsteps.
''I am very happy to be here and to join this great club that is the LOSC. I am still young, I am learning and I think that this project suits me perfectly to continue to progress."
The transfer fee paid to Sporting Charleroi has not been disclosed by Lille but a fee of 12 million euros has been mooted.
