Leicester City Explain Why Iheanacho Has Been Handed His Super Eagles Shirt Number For New Season
Kelechi Iheanacho will be wearing a new shirt number at Leicester City in the 2019-2020 season, informs the official website of the Foxes.

Leicester City have confirmed the shirt numbers allocated to the first team players in the new season and the big news is that Iheanacho has been handed the number 14 kit.

Explaining the reason behind the change, The Foxes stated  : '' Kelechi Iheanacho takes the No.14 shirt he has worn regularly for Nigeria, allowing summer signing Youri Tielemans to take No.8, a number he has worn regularly for Belgium.''

Last season, Portugal fullback Ricardo Pereira donned the number 14 shirt but has switched to number 21 for the new season.

Iheanacho wore the number 10 jersey for Nigeria at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup and 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup, and has been playing with the number 14 kit for the Super Eagles since October 2016.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi will continue playing with the number 25 jersey he has worn for Racing Genk and Leicester City.
