In our series of top Nigeria-eligible youngsters to watch in the upcoming season, we leave the shores of England for Italy as our attention was attracted by Juventus youngster Paolo Gozzi Iweru, who is the first player of Nigerian descent born this century to feature in Serie A.
Iweru made his first-team debut for Juventus against SPAL last season to achieve the massive feat at the age of 17.
His record-breaking debut brought the youngster into limelight, though he didn't feature in the remaining matches of the season.
Much is expected from the young defender and allnigeriasoccer.com is tipping him to continue from where he stopped when the 2019-20 Italian League commences.
The left-footed centre-back is surely one to watch in the fast approaching season as his growth and development is too obvious to ignore.
Though Iweru may not get regular action with the senior team due to tough competition from well-established defenders, he is expected to play a very important part for the U19 side in the UEFA Youth Competition.
