Official : Cudicini Replaces Nigerian As Coach Of Chelsea Loan Players
Chelsea have announced through their official website that Carlo Cudicini has been appointed loan player technical coach.

The former Blues goalkeeper replaces Nigerian manager Eddie Newton, who has moved to Frank Lampard's backroom staff.

Last season, Newton had monitored the performances of Tammy Abraham, Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori, Kenneth Omeruo and Ike Ugbo while on loan at their respective clubs.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: ''We are delighted Carlo has agreed to take over from Eddie Newton in this key role in our development programme.

''Carlo has years of experience from a playing career spanning Italian, English and US football, and has followed that by making a successful transition into coaching.

''His knowledge of the game and mentoring will be an important asset in the continued development of our young players.''

Nigerian starlets Fikayo Tomori and Ike Ugbo have been linked with loan moves before the close of the transfer window.
