Oberndorf Tournament : Tottenham's Etete Scores Against Liverpool
Published: August 04, 2019Tottenham Hotspur's Nigerian striker Kion Etete was on target against Liverpool in the semifinal of the Oberndorf tournament on Sunday.
Elijah Dixon-Bonner gave the Reds the lead and Etete restored parity for the North London club in the second half.
The summer arrival from Notts County helped Spurs U19s progress to the final by scoring in the shootout (4-2) after both teams could not be separated in normal time.
Defender Timothy Eyoma, goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi and Etete were in the traveling party to Germany for the prestigious tournament.
Tottenham reached the last four of the competition after beating RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain, and drawing with FC Midtjylland in the group stage.
A Midtjylland side containing Nigerian trio Justice Ohajunwa, Jibril Abubakar Antala and Raphael Nwadike Onyedika won the trophy after defeating Tottenham on penalties in the final.
