Three Super Eagles Stars That Should Seek Moves Before The Transfer Window Closes
Published: August 06, 2019
The transfer window has seen several players move to a new club as players seek to further their career in the best possible way.
Even as the transfer window draws to a close in the next couple of days, we take a look at some Nigerian players who need to move to better clubs with the aim to be relevant as much as possible to the Eagles team and in the days ahead.
Ahmed Musa
Musa must make a U-turn from that money inspired move to Saudi Arabiaand return to Europe where football is played with a high level of competition and measure.
The Nigerian forward needs to play in Europe under improved tactical reformation.
Musa’s gameplay can be improved if he can move to the club that matters most for his career.
The German Bundesliga may be well suitable for him just like Super Eagles prospect Ademola Lookman moved to German side RB Leipzig to continue his development as a player.
Remember that he’s the Super Eagles skipper in Mikel's stead and this must spur him for a move to a better league and a new club while he improves his game for the benefit of the team Super Eagles and Nigeria at large in the next couple of days for good.
Leon Balogun
Balogun’s club career is a big case at the moment. This is unacceptable by Nigerian standard as the defender deserves more reference and playing time from modest Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
How on earth is a player of Balogun’s caliber sitting and rotting on the bench at a club like Brighton & Hove Albion?
Léon must make a move to stand a chance of reclaiming his place in the Super Eagles line-up as he lost the position to well-deserving player Kenneth Omeruo with the Chelsea center back impressing with a maiden goal for Nigeria at the AFCON.
That proved to be the winner against fellow West African side Guinea in the group stage of the just concluded AFCON in Egypt.
This has to change For the German-born center-half as new players continue to spring up with bright future for the Super Eagles.
Oghenekaro Etebo
The Nigeria midfield star has thrived for the Super Eagles along with Wilfred Ndidi and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi.
With both players all plying their trade in the EPL as for Ndidi at Leicester City and Iwobi at Arsenal, it's clear indication that Etebo should move up the radar as he’s done enough to deserve a move away from the Championship side Stoke City.
He’s got a decent drive in midfield and the guile along with quality he’s shown on the pitch.
This is well off the mark as the Nigerian has paid his dues at Stoke City and even in the Super Eagles to deserve a better club in the summer.
This has seen some Nigerians moving from one club to another but all is not set as there are players who must move elsewhere to revive their once-promising careers and become more influential to the Super Eagles.

Etebo needs to be restored to Nigeria’s attacking midfield, a position where he can do better for the Super Eagles while we wait for Kelechi Nwakali and Ovie Ejaria to turn up in the National team as soon as possible.
