Tottenham's Move For Sessegnon Now Complicated As Newcastle Interested In Nigerian Midfielder
Published: August 07, 2019Tottenham Hotpsur's move to secure the services of Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon before the close of the transfer window has become complicated.
Spurs were ready to include Nigerian midfielder Josh Onomah as a makeweight in the deal taking Sessegnon to new White Hart Lane but there is a new twist.
Lilywhite_Rose has informed allnigeriasoccer.com that Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Onomah from under the noses of Fulham and this has complicated the swap deal.
The Cottagers still maintain an interest in the central midfielder and are pushing to sign him too.
Onomah has played under Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce at two different clubs, during his loan spells at Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.
The 22-year-old has been declared surplus to requirements by Mauricio Pochettino and did not take part in any of the pre-season games played by Tottenham's first team.
