Everton Coach Demands One Thing From Iwobi After Completing Move To Goodison Park
Published: August 09, 2019
Speaking to reporters at Friday's pre-match press conference, Everton manager Marco Silva revealed that Alex Iwobi was signed as replacement for Ademola Lookman and has urged the Super Eagles star to add more goals to his game.
The Toffees had to go into the transfer market to find a new left winger after Lookman's return to RB Leipzig and were linked with moves for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha and PSV's Steven Bergwijn apart from Iwobi.
Iwobi scored 15 goals in 149 appearances during his time at Arsenal and Silva has sent a message to the Nigerian to improve his goalscoring statistics.
''Since we lost Lookman in that position we looked for one winger since that moment, and it was in the last moment of the window,'' Silva stated.
"The position we are looking for him is clear - coming from the left, he can play behind the striker really well also. If you need to play him on the right he can do also.''

The Portuguese football tactician added : ''He's a strong player with good skills also. One thing I will be demanding from him will be scoring more goals, because it's important in that position.
"But he will help us. He's a strong player as you know, a fast play and he can put good intensity in a match which I like from my attacking players. He will give different solutions to me."

Iwobi is ineligible to make his Everton debut when they face Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener on Saturday, August 10 because the paperwork was not completed before the close of the transfer window.
