VfL Osnabruck's Nigeria-Eligible Defender In Contention To Debut For Germany
VfL Osnabruck fullback Felix Agu is in contention to play his first ever game for Germany at all levels after receiving a call-up to Germany's U21 national team on Wednesday, August 28.

Stefan Kuntz's team will face Greece in a friendly match on September 5 and five days later they will lock horns with Wales in Wrexham in a European Championship qualifier.

Agu would become provisionally cap-tied to Germany with an appearance against the Welsh team.

The likes of Karim Adeyemi (FC Liefering), Kevin Akpoguma (Hannover 96), Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha BSC), Felix Uduokhai (FC Augsburg ) and Emmanuel Iyoha (Holstein Kiel) have played competitive matches for Germany's youth teams but remain eligible to represent Nigeria.

Agu has earned a call-up to Germany U21s following his brilliant start to the season for VfL Osnabruck and he is joined in the squad by Manchester City loanee Lukas Nmecha.

The 19-year-old was a member of the VfL Osnabruck side that won the 3 Liga last season, playing 15 matches and scoring two goals.
