NFF Boss Pinnick Confirms Watching Chelsea Duo Abraham, Tomori Star Against Sheffield United
Published: September 02, 2019Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick watched Chelsea and Sheffield United play out an entertaining 2-2 draw on match day four in the Premier League.
Two players on the radar of the Nigerian Federation in the shape of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori were in action for the Europa League holders and gave a good account of themselves.
Sporting Life Nigeria's Ade Ojeikere first reported that Pinnick was at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and allnigeriasoccer.com has contacted the NFF boss to confirm the report.
''I watched Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori on Saturday, the technical crew will answer if Tomori is in our plans,'' Pinnick told allnigeriasoccer.com briefly.
Pinnick had approached Abraham to pledge his international future to the Super Eagles before the 2018 World Cup but talks were not successful and the striker was rewarded with a maiden call-up to England's senior team few months later.
The Chelsea number nine is believed to be on the radar of Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate following his brilliant start to the season, with four goals in four league matches.
Though Tomori is provisionally cap-tied to England, he remains eligible to represent the Super Eagles as well as his country of birth, Canada.
