Nigerian Winger Named The Fastest Player At Manchester United Ahead Of Dalot, James, Rashford
Published: September 06, 2019Nigerian wonderkid Deji Sotona has been identified as the fastest player at Premier League club Manchester United.
According to the Daily Mail, the teenage winger was clocked at a staggering maximum speed of 22.9mph – more than 1.2mph ahead of second quickest Diogo Dalot in recent tests at at the United's Carrington training complex.
Sotona is faster than other Manchester United's first team stars such as Daniel James , Marcus Rashford and Tahith Chong.
Sotona was Republic of Ireland's national Under 14 sprint champion at the age of 12.
Although he is not getting the same attention as Dillon Hoogewerf and England U16 captain Shola Shoretire, Sotona is one of the exciting prospects of Nigerian descent at Manchester United and has been likened to Red Devils legend Ryan Giggs .
Born in Waterford, Republic of Ireland, the first year scholar made his debut for United U18 team in an U18 Premier League fixture against Newcastle in March 2019 and has three appearances to his name in the new season, scoring one goal.
