Everton Reached Agreement To Sign Tomori Before Chelsea Sold David Luiz To Arsenal
Fikayo Tomori was on the verge of joining Everton in the summer transfer window after Chelsea reached an agreement with their Premier League rivals.

Football Insider says a deal was in place last month for the Nigerian central defender to spend the whole of this season at Everton as a replacement for Chelsea teammate Kurt Zouma, who was at Goodison Park during the 2018-19 season.

However, Blues manager Frank Lampard pulled the plug on Tomori's proposed move to Everton following the sale of David Luiz to Arsenal.

Tomori has no regrets about his failed move to Everton as he has been included in all Chelsea's match day squads in the new season, making his full debut in the last game before the international break against Sheffield United.

The 21-year-old is competing with Antonio Rüdiger, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma for the central defensive positions.

Previously Tomori enjoyed loan spells at Brighton & Hove, Hull City and Derby County.
