Europa League : Lazio's Adekanye Makes Pro Debut; Liverpool Loanee Ojo Nets Brilliant Goal
Published: September 20, 2019
Former Liverpool starlet Bobby Adekanye has made his professional debut aged 20 years, 7 months and 5 days.
Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi handed the winger his debut off the bench (80th minute) as the Italian club suffered a 2-1 loss to CFR Cluj at the Stadionul Dr. Constantin Radulescu in the Europa League on Thursday, September 19.
Adekanye had been itching to make his debut in a Lazio shirt since the season started and was named in the Biancocelesti's matchday squad against Sampdoria on the opening day of the season.
Bastos' 25th minute strike was cancelled out by Ciprian Ioan Deac on 41 minutes before Billel Omrani scored what proved to be the winner in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile, at the Ibrox Stadium, Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo was the hero for Rangers, netting the game-winning goal against Feyenoord.
On 23 minutes, Ojo's brilliant left-footed strike from outside the box secured three points for Steven Gerrard's side.
One-cap Nigeria international Joe Aribo played the last eight minutes for the Scottish club, his 14th appearance of the season in all competitions.
