England, Spain And Nigeria To Battle For Highly-Rated Arsenal Midfielder
Published: September 21, 2019
Highly-rated Arsenal midfielder Miguel Azeez could be the subject of a three-way tug of war for his services, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The exciting midfielder was born in London to a Nigerian father and Spanish mom, meaning he is eligible to represent Nigeria, Spain and England internationally.
However, the English Football Association are believed to be in pole position for his services and he became provisionally cap-tied to the English when he made his competitive debut for the Young Lions in an U17 EURO qualifier against Switzerland back in March 2019.
Prior to his maiden competitive appearance for England youth team, Azeez featured for England U16s in friendly matches.
It is understood that the Nigeria Football Federation have yet to show interest in the player but that could change as he has been tipped to make his first-team debut in the coming seasons.
Predominantly a central midfielder, he is known for his defence-splitting passes and a threat at dead-ball situations.
Azeez has been on the books of Arsenal for twelve years and signed his first professional contract with the club on Friday.
