Official : Ashley Gets England Legend Cole As New Coach At Chelsea
Published: October 18, 2019Through a statement on their official website, Premier League club Chelsea have finally confirmed the appointment of England legend Ashley Cole as coach of the U15 team.
The legendary left-back will be working closely with the next generation of Chelsea youngsters, including the highly-rated Polish-born Nigerian defender Ashley Antoni Akpan.
Ashley Cole has had a great start to his coaching career, winning the Premier League U15 International Tournament 2019-2020 season.
Predominantly a right-back, Akpan will learn the ropes from one of the best fullbacks to have played in the English Premier League.
Born to a Nigerian father and a Polish mother in Warsaw, Ashley's younger
sister Ashanti Akpan, who is a central midfielder, also represents Chelsea.
The Golden Eaglets coaches are keeping tabs on Ashley Akpan ahead of the 2021 FIFA U17 World Cup.
He was invited to attend a Poland youth team training camp in 2018.
