SC Paderborn Reveal Exactly Why Super Eagles Star Was Omitted From Matchday 18 Vs Cologne
Published: October 20, 2019For the first time this season, Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins has been omitted from a matchday 18 in all competitions as he has not been considered for the ongoing Bundesliga clash against Cologne at RheinEnergieStadion.
SC Paderborn07 have explained that Collins is currently suffering from a flu infection, hence he was not summoned by manager Steffen Baumgart.
The defender's expected date of return has not been disclosed by the Bundesliga newcomers.
The 24-year-old Gerrit Holtmann replaced Collins in Padeborn's starting line-up against Cologne.
Collins played the entirety of Nigeria's last five international matches against South Africa, Algeria, Tunisia, Ukraine and Brazil.
He is expected to fully recover from his ailment before coach Gernot Rohr announces his roster for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho next month.
Cologne's Kingsley Ehizibue started against Padeborn, his seventh start in the German top-flight since his summer move from PEC Zwolle.
