Ex-Chelsea Coach Mourinho Watches Super Eagles Star Shine Against Arsenal In Europa League
Published: October 25, 2019
Former Manchester United and Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho was spotted at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night as Arsenal came from behind to earn a hard fought 3-2 win against Vitória de Guimaraes in the Europa League.
According to several pictures circulating on social media, the Portuguese gaffer was at the Arsenal game last night.
It is unclear if Mourinho was on a scouting mission or if he was invited by the powers that be at Arsenal.
Nigeria international Mikel Agu played the full game for the Portuguese set-up, his third straight start in the group stage of this season's Europa League.
The central midfielder gave a good account of himself and received praise from some fans after the game.
According to statistics from whoscored.com, Mikel won three aerial duels, had a passing accuracy of 76.9 percent, made three interceptions and clearances each against Arsenal.
England U19 star of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka remained on the Gunners bench for ninety minutes.
Mourinho has been unemployed since departing Manchester United in December 2018 and has watched Lille's Victor Osimhen in France this season.
