Dad Claims Nigeria U17 International Left Back Is Wanted By Arsenal
Published: October 28, 2019
Ese Udoko, the adoptive father of Nigeria U17 international left-back Ogaga Oduko, has claimed that his son is attracting interest from Premier League side Arsenal.
Oduko was sensationally axed from the Golden Eaglets final 21-man World Cup roster, with Charles Etim ahead of him in coach Manu Garba's pecking order of left-backs.
It has been claimed that the Emirates Stadium outfit were expected to run the rule over the defender at the U17 World Cup in Brazil ahead of a potential transfer and an unnamed English Premier League club have invited him for trials.
''He will be coming for trials with a Premier League club I don’t want to reveal now,'' said Udoko to Punch newspaper.
''Arsenal will still have their eyes on him. They were actually coming to watch him in BraziL.
''He would have been drafted straight away into their U19 squad if he had played at the World Cup. A Premier League club is waiting for Ogaga already, but they want me to bring him to the UK first''.
Ogaga was a member of the Golden Eaglets squad to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania and was the only player that missed a spot kick in the shootout loss to Guinea in the semifinal.
