'He Plays Like Fabinho' - Ex- Liverpool Star Heaps Praise On Ndidi After EPL Record
Published: October 28, 2019
Leicester City thrashed Southampton 9-0 at the Saint Mary's Stadium Friday evening which has helped the Foxes move to third in the Premier League table with 20 points and the impact of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in that annihilation has been highlighted by former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock on Monday.
Warnock was speaking on Sky Sports News as he reviewed the matches played over the weekend alongside former England's women international Sue Smith.
"The whole (Leicester) team played well. The defence, the midfield. Ndidi was so clever in the middle of the park.
"He (Ndidi) plays just like Fabinho at Liverpool. And when you have a player like that, it just frees other players to play their games," Warnock said of the Nigerian.
Ndidi was in action throughout the duration of the match. He has played nine league games so far this season and scored twice with one appearance in the Carabao Cup.
Fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to play in the Premier League this season and has been restricted to just one appearance in the Carabao Cup against Luton Town back in September in which he scored a goal in a 4-0 win.
Leicester's massive win has the become the highest away win in the English Premier League.
