Iheanacho, Eppiah On Target For Leicester City Teams In Cup Competitions
Published: October 30, 2019Leicester City are through to the quarterfinal of the Carabao Cup for the third time in three seasons after beating Burton Albion 3-1 at Pirelli Stadium.
Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison secured a win for Brendan Rodgers' side.
Making his first start of the season, the Nigeria international gave The Foxes the lead on 7 minutes, assisted by Tielemans.
It was Iheanacho's second successive goal in the competition having found the net against Luton Town in the third round.
The number 14 was replaced in the 66th minute while Super Eagles teammate Wilfred Ndidi played the last two minutes.
Elsewhere, Nigeria-eligible striker Josh Eppiah scored a brace to help Leicester City to a 2-1 victory over Grimsby Town in the Leasing.com Trophy at Blundell Park on Tuesday night.
The half-time substitute beat goalkeeper Russell from close range to equalise for the Young Foxes before netting the game-winning goal with a long-range strike in the 90th minute.
