Goalkeepers Adegoke, Chibueze Post Shutout As Chelsea Thrash Fulham 7-0; Abu Stars At Left-Back
Published: November 30, 2019Chelsea U16s demolished Fulham 7-0 on Saturday afternoon, with two
Nigerian goalkeepers helping the Stamford Bridge to post a shutout, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
While
Prince Adegoke was named in the starting line-up and played the first
half, England U16 international goalkeeper Kelechi Chibueze was
introduced for the start of the second half in place of the Nigeria U17
invitee.
This is the same thing that
happened during the final of the Premier League U16 International
Tournament on October 20 when the two promising teenagers shared
goalkeeping duties.
Adegoke and Chibueze are expected
to be promoted to Chelsea U18 squad before the start of the 2020-2021
season as both have been offered scholarships.
Harvey Vale and Josh Tobin scored a brace each for Chelsea in the comprehensive win over the Cottagers.
Nigeria youth team hopeful Derrick Abu was one of the heroes for Chelsea, showing his versatility by playing at left-back.
He is also comfortable playing as a wing-back and central midfielder apart from his primary position at right fullback.
